Brain and Cognitive Science Club
Exploring the intersection of machine learning, neuroscience, cognitive science, and artificial intelligence.
Learn More About BCS IITK

The Brain & Cognitive Science Club (BCS IITK) is a student community dedicated to explore the intersection of machine learning and neuroscience. Our work spans over a vast range of domains - from Computer Vision and Natural Language Processing to Neuroimaging, brain mapping, Spiking Neural Networks and Brain-computer interfaces (BCIs).
We also have an EEG device and an eye tracker using which we have built various interesting projects.
Collaborations
We have collaborated with UP Police, and also with institutions like TimeFlux, Spheron Network, and the SAWiN Collective for talks and workshops.
Interdisciplinary Projects
We bridge the gap between neuroscience and computation, working on projects that require integrating signals from hardware with advanced machine learning architectures.
WHAT DO WE DO?
Advancing Cognitive Science Through Collaborative Learning
We foster a community of curious minds by integrating academic discussions, hands-on projects, and expert insights to advance understanding and innovation in brain and cognitive sciences.
EXPLORA
An upcoming series of four sessions dedicated to fostering a robust research culture by collectively implementing and dissecting State-of-the-Art (SOTA) papers. Students present and explore the latest breakthroughs in the field, helping to maintain academic curiosity and spread cutting-edge research across campus.
Projects
We support three main types of projects: replicating influential past studies to test their reproducibility, exploring new and original research ideas within our area of interest, and engaging in learning-oriented projects designed to help students with little experience gain practical skills and guidance in the research process
